Tom Masano Auto Group new & used dealership was founded in 1954 by brothers Tom and Bruce when they opened a small used car dealership in Reading Pennsylvania. Over the decades, the Masano Family has grown a small car dealership into a thriving multi-dealership auto group. Current manufacturers include America’s iconic brand, Ford, LINCOLN, and world-class luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz trucks, SUVs and cars for sale. Additionally, Masano USA Pre-Owned SuperCenter rounds out the Tom Masano Auto Group with over 300 used vehicles.
Seventy-five years ago, two brothers, Tom and Bruce Masano, had a dream about selling cars. Just back from the war, they liked the idea of working for themselves, and figured the rest would fall into place.
Tom Masano Auto Group was started with the purchase of a single car. When they sold the car at a profit, they did it again. One car soon became two. Two became four. Flash forward to today, with our yearly sales eclipsing a quarter billion dollars! We are as proud of that achievement as we are of our humble beginning.
Bruce Jr. and I entered the business in the late 70’s. But to say the path from 1 car to $250,000,000.00 was linear would be inaccurate. The journey was paved with more potholes than Hancock Blvd!
In our tenure, we all navigated through the big gas shortage, interest rates approaching 20%, an import invasion, a couple of stock market crashes, 9-11 terrorist attacks, a hail storm, and the great recession.
We’ve contracted and expanded, contracted and expanded, and repeated once again. We survived consolidations, mergers, changing models from direct sales to internet-based. Through it all, 40 years later, more than one third of you are still with us.
When the third generation of family entered, we were promptly greeted with a pandemic, economic shutdown and a chip shortage. What first seemed like a setback though, became an unexpected boon.
So, we couldn’t have had the great year we did, without our extended family of talented coworkers. We’re incredibly appreciative of everyone on our team. As many of you know this is a six day a week job. And the times it isn’t, it’s seven days a week!
What would it be like without a “Finish Out the Year Strong” sales message, but also a heart-felt thanks from our work family to your home family!
